About Patriot Air Comfort Systems
Patriot Air Comfort Systems was founded by William Kanipe in 2004. Mr. Kanipe, who served as the company’s first president, brought decades of experience working in the home building industry. His career began as a Columbus-based HVAC installer and service technician, a role which provided the foundation for future responsibilities and positions that included field construction manager, purchasing and estimating manager and senior construction manager for leading national home builders such as Centex Homes, Beazer Homes and Toll Brothers.
Building on his deep industry experience and network of skilled industry professionals, Mr. Kanipe began developing a model and mission for a company that would come to be known as Patriot Air- a company that would be based on service and inspired by the sense of pride and patriotism our founder experienced in the wake of the tragic events surrounding September 11, 2001, forever etched in our memories as 9/11.
Our founder’s career mission has been service since that day, and our company’s mission has been service from Day 1.

AC & Furnace Maintenance Plan
Two precision tune-ups a year, timed to the seasons that matter. We service your air conditioner in the spring before cooling season arrives, and your furnace in the fall before you need heat.
Your air conditioning tune-up covers cleaning and washing the condenser coils, leveling the condensing unit for proper motor and bearing wear, lubricating motor and fan bearings, inspecting the evaporator coil and drain pan, checking condensate drain lines, calibrating the thermostat, cleaning the blower assembly, testing every electrical connection and capacitor, measuring line and control voltage and amp draw, verifying airflow and air delivery, adjusting all safety controls, and monitoring refrigerant pressures with superheat and subcooling measured against factory specifications.
Your furnace tune-up covers cleaning and adjusting the main gas burners and ignition assembly, inspecting the heat exchanger and combustion chambers for cracks, rust, and problem areas, vacuuming out the blower compartment and return air drop, testing the flue assembly and drafting mechanism, testing all safety controls, measuring and adjusting gas pressure, replacing or cleaning standard air filters, lubricating fan motors and moving parts, setting proper blower speed and airflow, calibrating the thermostat, recording heating output, testing the thermocouple and pilot safety switch, and repairing minor air leaks in the plenum and return air drop.
That heat exchanger inspection is the one no homeowner should go without. A cracked heat exchanger is a carbon monoxide risk, and it is not something you can spot on your own or hear coming.

Geothermal System Maintenance Plan

Your plan includes two precision tune-ups a year, one in spring and one in fall. Each visit covers verifying supply voltage, measuring compressor amp draw, checking return air and coil temperature differential, checking loop pressures and temperatures, removing air from the flow center, adding loop fluid as needed, switching the desuperheater on or off for the season, inspecting all electrical connections and grounds, checking capacitor MFD ratings, cleaning the drain pan, checking and replacing filters, scanning the unit for fault codes, verifying auxiliary and backup heat operation, and checking and cleaning the blower motor.
